How to make buttermilk smoothies using different seasonal fruits

Delicious buttermilk smoothies are made using different seasonal fruits. These smoothies are simple to make with different fresh fruit flavors. This delightful, refreshing drink is served chilled, especially in hot summer. Recipe is sometimes served along with an ice cream of different flavors. You can use any fruit as a substitute for these fruits. In this recipe we used apricot, cantaloupe, peaches, plum fruit, dates and bananas to make different buttermilk smoothies. Buttermilk banana smoothie


  • Buttermilk- 1 cup
  • Dried dates- 10
  • Salt- 1/2 spoon
  • Ice cubes- 1 cup
  • Honey- 2 spoons
  • Ripe bananas- 2

Step 1: Remove seeds from dates, cut banana into thick slices.

Step 2: Add buttermilk, salt, dates, banana, honey and ice cubes in a processor.

Step 3: Blend the whole recipe till smooth.

Step 4: Serve the chilled drink in glasses and garnish with banana slices.

Buttermilk plum smoothie


  • Plums- 4
  • Buttermilk- 1 cup
  • Honey- 1 spoon
  • Ice cubes- 1 cup
  • Sugar- 1 1/2 cup
  • Plum slices to garnish- 2 or 3
  • Vanilla bean – halved- 1

Step 1: Add vanilla bean with scraped seeds, water, sugar in a large saucepan.

Step 2: At medium flame, stir it well till sugar gets dissolved.

Step 3: Add plums and simmer it for 10-15min.

Step 4: Later take out plums from the pan and set aside to reduce the temperature.

Step 5: Remove beans and place in a bowl, off the flame.

Step 6: Blend plums into fine puree, add buttermilk, honey, ice cubes and add a cup of saucepan liquid and blend again until smooth.

Buttermilk melon smoothie


  • Buttermilk- 1 cup
  • Apricot- 3 spoons
  • Honeydew- 1 cup
  • Peaches- 1/2 cup
  • Sugar- 2 spoons
  • Cantaloupe- 1 cup

Step 1: Combine all the ingredients in a processor and blend until smooth.

Step 2: Store in refrigerator or adds ice cubes before serving.

Step 3: Garnish with melon slices on the recipe
