People like to prepare these two snacks when the climate is cool. Mirchi bajji is popular snack item in Guntur which is a famous for Mirchi.

As we know that nutty flavor is the behavior of the besan flour that creates taste and also the flour is having lot of proteins and folate content. This gram flour is used to prepare lot of sweet and hot items. I have mixed the besan flour with water and made a thick besan flour batter to coat the green chilies and onions. Mirchi bajji / Mirapakaya bajji / green chili bajji

Mirchi bajji is a delicious Indian recipe served as a best snack. People won’t dare to eat the green chilies because of the spiciness. But here is the recipe which makes you to taste the mirchi spiciness. I have stuffed the green chilies / mirchi with carom seeds powder and besan atta to reduce the spiciness of the mirchi. When it is dipped in gram flour paste and fried in oil the spiciness is almost gone and sure you can taste the bajji without any fear. Keep remember that not to use the normal green chilies which you add in dishes. There are special green chilies that are made for preparing bajji’s. Use them and taste the mirapakaya bajji.

  • Gram flour / besan atta – 3 cups
  • Green chilies (big size for bajjis) – 15
  • Salt (required)
  • Soda salt – ½ tbsp
  • Oil for deep fry
  • Water (required)
  • Carom seeds powder – 2tbsp

How to Make

Step 1: Take the besan atta flour / gram flour into a bowl.

Step 2: Add required salt and soda salt to the flour.

Step 3: Mix it well.

Step 4: Now take water and start adding to besan flour. Remember not to pour water all a time. Slowly mix the besan flour by adding little little water so that it will form like a thick paste.

Step 5: Avoid lumps while mixing the flour with water. Mix it well and keep this bowl a side.

Step 6: Now take a small bowl and add carom seeds powder to it.

Step 7: Put 2tbsp of besan powder and 1 pinch of salt into the carom seeds powder.

Step 9: Take green chilies and pin the chilies straightly, so that the chilies will open.

Step 10: Now put the powder which we made before (carom seed powder & besan atta powder) into the chilies as shown in figure.

Step 11: By doing this the spiciness in green chilies will reduce and allows eating the bajji along with green chilies.

Step 12: Now take a pan for frying on stove. Fill half it with oil.

Step 13: Heat the oil in medium flame.

Step 14: After oil getting hot dip the green chilies into a besan atta paste or gram flour paste which we mixed before.

Step 15: Dip the chilies well so that the green chilies should cover completely with besan paste.

Step 16: Now put that green chilies into hot oil.

Step 17: Fry them nicely till the bajji becomes golden yellow in shade.

Step 18: Collect the mirchi bajji into a plate and serve it hot to your family along with onions and sauce.

Onion pakodi / onion pakora

People like to enjoy eating pakodi when the climate is cloudy or while raining. The best snack that strikes into mind in the evening is nothing but the onion pakora. Preparing of this dish is very easy. Just a simple method, one best ingredient called besan or gram flour will allow you to taste the nice snack. How to Make

Step 6: Now cut the onions into straight slices.

Step 8: Now take a pan for frying on stove. Fill half it with oil.

Step 9: Heat the oil in medium flame.

Step 10: After oil getting hot take the onion mixture which is mixed with besan paste and slightly sprinkle in the oil (as shown in figure).

Step 11: Fry the pakodis till they become golden yellow in shade.

Step 12: Now collect the fried pakodis into a plate and serve it hot with tomato sauce and raw onions.

NOTE: If you want more spiciness you can add green chilies and red chili powder
