Coconut candies are of various types which differ from its taste. Bengali coconut candy is delicious recipe with ghee taste and it is easy to prepare at home. Recipes which we prepare at home are more tasty and healthy. Now let us learn how to make Bengali coconut cakes at home.
- Fresh and grated coconut- 1 cup
- Maida flour/ plain flour- 1 ½ cups
- Baking soda- pinch
- Ghee- 3 cup
- Sugar- 3 cups
- Khoya/ mawa/ solid milk – 2 cups
To prepare sugar syrup
Step 1: Take 2 cups of sugar and one cup of water heat them at low flame till it turn into consistency.
Step 2: Keep sugar syrup aside till the temperature reduces.
To prepare coconut mixture
Step 3: On other side, heat 4 spoons of ghee in a pan.
Step 4: Fry grated coconut, khoya and remaining sugar at medium flame.
Step 5: Stir the mixture well till it thickens.
Step 6: Off the flame and keep aside till the temperature reduces.
Step 7: Now divide the mixture into small balls and press the ball evenly to all sides.
To prepare make batter
Step 8: Take a bowl and mix maida flour, baking soda and water mix it well into fine batter.
Step 9: Dip the coconut mixture in maida batter.
Step 10: Heat ghee in a pan and fry the coconut cakes till it turns into brown colour.
Step 11: Soak the coconut cakes in sugar syrup for 20 min.
Step 12: Serve the coconut cakes in plate.
