Cashew coconut halwa is a popular south Indian dessert. It is made with different kind of oils but using ghee to prepare this sweet adds more taste to this dessert. It is delicious dessert with cardamom flavour. We can preserve the sweet for two days. It is easy to prepare at home. Let us see how to make cashew coconut halwa.
- Chopped cashew nuts- 1cup
- Grated coconut- 2cups
- Ghee- 1/2cup
- Cardamom powder- 1/4spoon
- Jaggery- 1cup
- raisins- 1/4 cup
Step 1: For jaggery syrup, take a vessel add, water and jaggery and mix it well.
Step 2: At low flame, boil them till it turns into thin liquid.
Step 3: Heat 2 spoons of ghee in a pan, fry cashew nuts till it turns into brown color.
Step 4: keep aside till the temperature reduces.
Step 5: Using mixer, grind cashew nuts into semi powder and keep aside.
Step 6: Heat ghee in a pan, fry grated coconut for 2min and off the flame.
Step 7: Add cashew nut powder and sauté it well.
Step 8: Add jaggery syrup slowly and stir it well.
Step 9: Sprinkle cardamom powder for flavour.
Step 10: Off the flame and serve in a bowl.
Step 11: Fry raisins in ghee and garnish the dessert.
