The dry fruit barfi is delicious sweet item and a best snack too. It is very healthy and sugar-free item. It consists of rich cashew nuts, pistachio, almonds and dates. All these ingredients are so powerful with nutrients. Making dry fruit burfi at home is easy and simple. This can be made during festive season. Let’s see how to make dry fruit burfi.
- Seedless dates = 400 gms
- Cashew nuts = 26gms
- Almonds = 32 gms
- Pistachios = 40gms
- Cantaloupe seeds = 26gms
- Pappy seeds = 8gms
- Edible gum = 1tbsp
- Cardamoms = 6
- Nutmeg = 1
- Ghee = 2 tbsps
Preparations to be made
- Using the knife chop the dates into small pieces and using the food processor make it into a coarse texture.
- Using the knife make the small pieces of cashew nuts, pistachios and almonds.
- Mash the cardamoms, discharge the shells and then make a fine powder.
- Take a tbsp of cardamom powder and keep it a side.
- Grate the nutmeg and take 1/2 tps of grated nutmeg.
Step 1: Heat the pan.
Step 2: Add poppy seeds and roast them for 5min, then take them into a bowl.
Step 3: In the same pan add 1-tbsp on ghee, 1tbsp edible gum fry stirring them in a low flame until they are puff up completely.
Step 4: Once the edible gum come downs to room temperature, using your finger crush them and make them into powder.
Step 5: Take 1tbsp of ghee in the same pan and add pieces of cashew nuts, almonds, pistachios, cantaloupe seeds and fry them in a medium flame and stir them well until the cantaloupe seeds start crackling
Step 6: Then add coarsely ground dates mix it well then add roosted poppy seeds, cardamom powder, grated nutmeg and edible gum powder, mix them well till it forms into a solid mass.
Step 7: Then take the burfi into a plate to make the surface even.
Step 8: Chill in the refrigerator for 10-15 min.
Step 9: Now cut into which ever shape you want or even you can make into laddus.
