How to make tomato and coconut soup recipe

Tomato and coconut soup is hot and sour soup. It has delicious taste with pepper flavour. It is easy to prepare the recipe at home. Let us see and learn how to make this soup at home.


  • Grated coconut- ½ cup
  • Chopped onion- ½ cup
  • Chopped ginger and garlic – 2 spoons
  • White pepper powder- pinch
  • Salt to taste
  • Vegetable stocks- 2 cups
  • Cream- 3 spoons
  • Chopped tomato- 2 cups
  • Oil as required
  • Bay leaves- 2
  • Coriander leaves- ¼ cup


Step 1: Heat oil in a pan, sauté chopped onions, ginger and garlic for 3min.

Step 2: Add grated coconut and stir it well for 2min.

Step 3: Add tomatoes, vegetable stalk and bay leaves and stir it well.

Step 4: Allow simmering for 10min at low flame.

Step 5: Add salt as needed, off the flame and keep aside till temperature reduces.

Step 6: Using mixer, mix the tomatoes mixture into fine paste.

Step 7: Serve tomato soup in a bowl, stir it well by adding white pepper powder.

Step 8: Add cream as topping to the soup and garnish with coriander leaves.
