Bombay halwa is a famous Indian sweet made with corn flour and ghee. Cardamom powder adds flavour to the Bombay halwa. It is simple and easy to prepare at home. Let us see how to make Bombay halwa at home.
- Corn flour- 2 cups
- Sugar- 4 cups
- Water required
- Ghee- 2 cup
- Chopped Cashew nuts- ½ cup
- Chopped pistachio- 1/4 cup
- Food colour- pinch
- Lime juice- 1 spoon
- Cardamom powder-1 spoon
Step 1: At low flame, boil sugar and water to make into sugar syrup.
Step 2: Add lemon juice to the sugar syrup.
Step 3: Take another bowl, mix corn flour and water without any lumps
Step 4: At low flame heat ghee in a pan, add corn flour mixture and stir it well.
Step 5: After the mixture thickens, add sugar syrup and stir it well to avoid lumps.
Step 6: Add remaining ghee by stirring it well.
Step 7: Now add food colour, cardamom powder and cook the mixture till ghee comes out.
Step 8: Later add chopped cashew nuts to the mixture.
Step 9: Apply ghee on plate and pour the mixture. Keep aside for 30min.
Step 10: Cut into small pieces and serve to eat.
