With the onset of the winter season, give your makeup regime a makeover too. Make-up artist Annalia Zhimomi says maintaining a well-moisturized skin is a necessity.
After cleansing, toning and moisturizing, “the next step is to prepare and prime your skin with a primer so that your foundation is applied smoothly and evenly.”
“I would recommend investing in a high quality primer as it makes sure that it lasts longer. It also avoids patchiness, clogging of pores, breakouts and even works in improving the quality of your skin,” Zhimomi said.
Women with dry and mature skin should use a hydrating primer. So it is better to follow the tips which may help to give you beautiful makeup.
For those who have oily skin or a mix of oily and dry skin should try modifying primer. For discolored skin, one can apply color corrector primer.
Women should be careful while selecting foundation too. It may affect your skin with rashes and pores. Select the foundation based on your skin type, i.e., dry or oily skin.
“For dry skin, liquid foundation with a dewy effect based foundation is good. They should be applied with a beauty blender (sponge) as it avoids skin from becoming flaky,” she said.
“Oily skin should be tackled with a Mattifying light weight foundation and it must be sealed with powder as this will help the makeup to last longer,” she added.
Another important tip she shared is foundation should be applied with the help of a buffing brush in circular motion as it helps minimize pores. If the foundation applied on dry or flaky skin, it becomes awkward look. So, it’s better to select good foundation cream that suits your skin type.
For the lips, she says stick to dark rich colors. Winter causes more dryness and cracks. So, it’s better to choose a bright color to lips.
“One can go for velvety and berry shades like red berry and plum hues,” she said.
Simple and easy winter proof your makeup
Winter weather results in dry patches that can build up dead skin on your skin’s surface. This helps to leave you a less radiant skin. This gives you glow to back by using a gentle exfoliate once a week, with the layers of moisturizer while your skin is still damp. Thus, it is sure to hydrate from within by drinking with a lot of water.
Cleanse your face carefully
It is best and is recommended that the parched weather turns cold, switch it up by cleansing the routine. Thus, instead of using a foaming, get a gel based cleanser with the milk or creamy cleansers. Thus, the fewer skin stripping detergents are recommended for women. Massage into dry skin and then removes it gently with a facial tissue or cotton pads. This helps to consider by using a humidifier to combat dryness in the air.
