You can find lot of mushrooms in daily life but these natural mushrooms won’t available all time. You can see this only in monsoon. Choosing of the best mushroom gives good health and taste. I used to wait eagerly for the rainy season to taste my favorite mushrooms. Some thinks that this comes under non-veg but this is completely a vegetarian which grows on soil. Lot of industries is trying to grow the instant mushrooms but they won’t replace these natural mushrooms which grow on soil. This would be a great feast to vegetarians. Since these are available only three months in a year, the demand of the natural mushrooms is high. These are richly available in south Indian side.

You can prepare lots of varieties with these mushrooms like mushroom fry, mushroom soup, mushroom curry, mushroom biryani and many more. We would like to introduce you the best food mushroom recipes which are quick to prepare and mouth watering too. For preparing these recipes I have chosen the natural mushrooms which are available in market during rainy season.

Natural Mushroom dum biriyaniNatural Mushroom dum biriyani

You have already taster lot of non veg biriyanis but this natural mushroom dum biryani is somewhat different. This dish would be a great feast to the veg food lovers. You can only taste the natural mushrooms in rainy season. So why do you want to miss this opportunity. Prepare this hot biryani and serve it to your family and be healthy. Look at our ingredients list and start cooking at your kitchen.

Ingredients

  • Mushrooms – 2cups
  • Basmati Rice – 1 ½ glass
  • Tomatoes – 2
  • Onions – 2
  • Garlic & ginger paste – 2tbsp
  • Cinnamon – 2
  • Cloves – 4
  • Cardamom seeds / Elachi – 2
  • Aniseed – 1
  • Oil – ½ cup
  • Coriander leaves – ½ cup
  • Green chilies – 4
  • Curry leaves – 5
  • Mint leaves – ½ cup
  • Garam masala powder – 1tbsp
  • Salt (required)

Step 1: Wash the basmati rice. Take thick bottom vessels add rice and required water to it.

Step 2: Light a low flame. Add cloves, cardamom, cinnamon and salt to the rice water.

Step 3: After 5 minutes add mint leaves.

Step 4: Allow it to cook till rice gets ¾ th cooked. Turn off the flame.

Step 5: Pour the excess water down from the vessel. Keep the vessel a side.

Step 6: Now wash the mushrooms and cut into small pieces. Same way chop the onions, green chilies and tomatoes. Keep ready all these items.

Step 7: Take a non stick vessel keep it on stove.

Step 8: Add oil and allow it to get hot. After oil getting hot add cloves, cinnamon, cardamom and ani seed to it.

Step 9: Let the hot oil absorbs the flavor of these spices.

Step 10: Now add onions and green chilies. Fry them for 5 minutes.

Step 11: Add ginger garlic paste and mix well. Fry it for 2 minutes.

Step 12: Add tomatoes, mint leaves and coriander leaves to this mixture.

Step 13: Mix well and let them fry for 2 minutes.

Step 14: Now add salt and garam masala powder to it.

Step 15: Fry it for 2 minutes.

Step 16: Now add mushroom pieces to this mixture and mix them well.

Step 17: Let them fry for 5 minutes.

Step 18: Now mix the cooked rice into this mushroom mixture and mix well.

Step 19: So that the mushroom masala will get mixed with the rice.

Step 20: Now take a clean cloth cover the lid of the vessel completely as show in the picture.

Step 21: Keep that lid on the vessel along with cloth. Turn the flame into high.

Step 22: Take a old chapathi pan keep this under the vessel as shown in the picture.

Step 23: Allow it to get dhum. Do this in a low flame for 15 minutes.

Step 24: You can find the steam coming out from the lid then turn off the flame.

Garnish the biryani with coriander leaves and serve it hot along with mushroom curry and raitha.

Note: Since mushrooms are grown in the soil these contains lot of soil. So washing would be little tough. Here is the tip for you to wash the natural mushrooms easily.

  • Take a big bowl of water. Add crystal salt to it.
  • Put the mushrooms into this bowl. Allow them in water for 10 minutes.
  • Slowly rub the mushrooms with hands.
  • Throw the water out and add fresh water.
  • Rinse the mushrooms carefully.
  • Check whether the soil leaves the mushroom or not.
  • Then cut the pieces.

Mushroom will shine like anything in white color.

Natural Mushroom curryNatural Mushroom curry

Most of the ingredients which we use in making of natural mushroom biryani can be also used in making of natural mushroom curry. This dish is best combination to have in hot rice, chapattis or biryani rice. Taste the flavor and enjoy eating delicious natural mushroom curry.

Ingredients

  • Mushrooms – 2cups
  • Tomatoes – 2
  • Onions – 2
  • Garlic & ginger paste – 2tbsp
  • Cinnamon – 2
  • Cloves – 4
  • Cardamom seeds / Elachi – 2
  • Aniseed – 1
  • Oil – ½ cup
  • Coriander leaves – ½ cup
  • Green chilies – 4
  • Curry leaves – 5
  • Mint leaves – ½ cup
  • Garam masala powder – 1tbsp
  • Salt (required)

Step 1: Take the natural mushrooms in a big bowl. Pour half water to the bowl.

Step 2: Add salt to the water. Leave the mushroom bowl for 10 minutes.

Step 3: Now rub the mushrooms with your figures so that soil gets out from the mushroom.

Step 4: Through the water down. Again clean the mushrooms with fresh water for 2 to 3 times.

Step 5: Collect the washed mushrooms into a plate. Take a cutter and start cutting the mushrooms into pieces. Keep it a side.

Step 6: chop the onions, green chilies and tomatoes also and keep a side.

Step 7: Take a vessel on stove add oil to it and heat it in low flame.

Step 8: Now put cloves, cinnamon, cardamom and ani seed to it.

Step 9: Let the oil absorbs the flavors of spices.

Step 10: Now add onions and green chilies to it. Fry it for 5 minutes.

Step 11: Add ginger garlic paste to it. Fry them for 2 minutes.

Step 12: Add tomatoes to it. Mix them all and stir it for 2 minutes.

Step 13: Now add mint leaves and curry leaves. Mix them and stir for 2 minutes.

Step 14: After 2 minutes add mushroom pieces to this mixture. Add required salt.

Step 15: Fry it for 10 minutes by mixing the mixture.

Step 16: Now add 1 tea glass of water. Keep the lid.

Step 17: Allow it boil for 10 minutes in low flame.

Step 18: This will form it into gravy. Now add garam masala powder and coriander leaves.

Step 19: Mix it well and cook it for 1 minute. Turn off the flame.
