Home remedies for vomiting and headache

Headache is common medical complaint that is classified into three types like tension headaches, migraine headache, and cluster headaches. Of these types migraine headache has the symptoms like nausea, vomiting, sensitivity to lights and sounds.

Migraines are a physical, neurobiology action that occurs in and around the brain. It is a neurological disorder. The symptoms are vomiting, nausea, and increased sensitivity to light, sound and motor disturbances, you felt disoriented and have difficulty in moving and walking. This type of headaches is throbbing, pulsating, and severe for a few hours to three days. They usually accompanied by profuse sweating, poor concentration, acute physical uneasiness, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and increased urination.

Home remedies for nausea and vomiting


Peppermint tea or oil is therapeutic for relieving sour stomach symptoms such as occasional indigestion, heartburn, nausea, and vomiting. Peppermint extract is not comparable to peppermint oil that the mint leaf produces a much more powerful, more pungent mint essence. Brew fresh peppermint leaves for tea in boiling water. Chew the wilted peppermint leaves between sips of tea.

Cumin and nutmeg

An infusion of one teaspoon of crushed cumin seeds and a pinch of nutmeg is also effective for relieving sour stomach.


Take one teaspoon of grated ginger, add one teaspoon of fresh onion juice. It’s not for the faint of heart, but many people swear by its ability to calm queasy stomachs.


Rooibos tea is beneficial for providing antioxidant protection, in addition to promoting good indigestion, a healthy inflammatory response, and soothing stress. Rooibos is gentle enough for infants, and is helpful for relieving sour stomach.


You can take one part of vinegar and one part of water. It is useful for removing the smell of stomach acids. After vomiting, rinse your mouth with this solution. It promotes dental health. You can also make gargling, or gently swish a quarter cup of vinegar with a quarter cup of water in your mouth. Then spit it off with and clean it off with water.

Chamomile powder

Take some chamomile powder to 1 cup of boiling water. Stir them well to transfer the liquid to a cup. Drink this when it is hot. This gives fast relief from migraine.

Spinach juice

Take ½ glass of carrot juice. Add ½ glass of spinach juice. Mix them well together. Drink this juice to cure migraine.

Cinnamon and cloves

You have to sip tea made by brewing one-half of a teaspoon of cinnamon, or one teaspoon of cloves. Pour one cup of boiling water over spices.  Then allow it to steep and strain the solution.


The best natural ingredients for nausea are ginger, which is available in many forms. If you are a purist, simply peel and grate a piece of ginger root, squeeze it through a garlic crusher, and catch the healing juices in a small bowl. Drink a teaspoon or add to hot water or tea.


Lavender oil is a favored aromatherapy for enhancing digestive health that contains camphor oil. A powerful tonic for relieving upset stomach. Make a lavender scented migraine sachet, take a small square of fabric, then sprinkle some dried lavender in the center, douse with a few drops of lavender oil. Then bring all four corners together and secure with a piece of ribbon. Then inhale deeply whenever you feel stressed, nauseous, or strung out.


Aniseed has a licorice like aroma. Brew a cup of sweet aniseed tea for good digestive health. You just take a half cup of boiling water over a quarter teaspoon of aniseed, seep five minutes. Aniseed adds a pleasing taste to cooked vegetable, soups, and salads.


Take out the peels from lemons and grind them well by adding the required amount of water to form a thick paste. Apply this paste on the forehead that helps to relief from headache.

Cabbage leaves

Take out some cabbage leaves and crush them well. Apply it on your forehead with a cloth. This gives better relief from headache.


Place an ice pack at the nape of the neck and surround your head with an ice wrap such as the type sold commonly in drug stores. This immediately reduces inflammation of the blood vessels in the brain, relieving the primary cause of pain.
