  • Carrot – 8 (3 cups carrot grate)
  • Ghee – ½ cup
  • Sugar – 1 ½ cup
  • Boiled Milk – 2 cups
  • Cardamom seeds – 4
  • Cashew nuts – 15

How to Make

Step 1: Wash the carrot and start peeling the carrots with the peeler.

Step 2: Now take a grater and grate the carrots nicely. Keep the carrot grate a side.

Step 3: Take cardamom seeds and 1tbsp of sugar into a small jar.

Step 4: Now grind them well to a fine powder. Keep this also a side.

Step 5: Now take a thick bottom pan on stove. Give a light flame.

Step 6: Add ½ tbsp of cashew nuts into the hot ghee.

Step 7: Fry little the cashew nuts and collect them into a plate.

Step 8: In the same pan add carrot grate and fry it for 5 mins till the raw smell goes out.

Step 12: After milk disappears add sugar. Mix it well.

  • Ghee – ½ cup
  • Sugar – ¾ cup
  • Kova – ½ cup
  • Semolina or bombayi rava – 3tbsp
  • Elachi powder – ½ tbsp

How to prepare Carrot laddo / laddu


Step 1: Add ghee to the thick pan and heat it in a low flame.

Step 2: Now add carrot grate into the hot ghee and fry it nicely by stirring slowly.

Step 3: After 10 mins add semolina or bombayi rava into the fried carrot grate.

Step 4: Fry both ingredients for 10 mins.

Step 5: Now add remaining ingredients sugar, kova, elachi powder and fried cashews to the mixture.

Step 6: Mix all the ingredients. You can observe sugar melting while stirring the ingredients.

Step 7: The mixture gets sticky in nature. Turn off the flame.

Step 8: Collect the mixture into a bowl. Let it get cool for some time.

Step 9: Apply ghee to your both arms and take a few mixture to hands.

Step 10: Start making small size balls like laddos with this mixture.

Step 11: Continue doing the same with remaining mixture also.

  • Semolina or bombayi rava – ½ cup
  • Wheat flour – ½ cup
  • Besan aata – 1 cup
  • Ghee – 1 cup
  • Sugar – 2 ½ cup
  • Elachi powder – ½ tbsp

How to make Wheat flour and besan flour laddus / laddos


Step 1: Take a thick pan add 4 tbsp of ghee to it and keep on stove with low flame.

Step 2: Ghee gets melted and becomes hot.

Step 3: Add semolina or bombayi rava to the hot ghee and fry it by continuous stirring.

Step 4: Collect the rava into a bowl and keep a side.

Step 5: In the same pan add 4 tbsp of ghee and fry the wheat flour as the same like semolina.

Step 6: Take the fried flour into a bowl and keep a side.

Step 6: As the same way add ghee and fry the besan aata and keep a side.

Step 7: Take wide vessel and put fried besan aata, semolina and wheat flour.

Step 8: Mix all these together.

Step 9: Now take sugar into a jar and grind it into a fine dry powder.

Step 10: Add this sugar powder into the wide vessel which contains all the mixture.

Step 11: Mix all ingredients nicely. Now add elachi powder and chopped almonds into the mixture.

Step 12: Add the remaining ghee into the mixture simultaneously make the laddus or laddos with the mixture.

  • Sugar powder – 1 cup
  • Food color – 1 pinch

How to cook Kesar malai laddus or laddos


Step 1: Take a pan and keep it on stove. Heat it on slow flame.

Step 2: Add butter to the pan and allow it to melt.

Step 3: Add food color to the butter.

Step 4: Take paneer grate and add to the pan. Stir it nicely so that the mixture gets stronger.

Step 5: Collect the mixture into a bowl and allow getting cool for 10 mins.

Step 6: After that add sugar powder, elachi powder, cashew and pistachios to the mixture containing bowl.

Step 7: Mix all the ingredients.

Step 8: Start making laddus or laddos with this mixture.

Methi masala laddu is a traditional recipe which is healthier and Ayurvedic medicine sweet. It is best given to the mother after delivery. Methi masala laddo is best used to cure joint pains and back pains during winter season. It is also prepared in the special occasion like festivals.


  • Fenugreek seeds – ¾ cup
  • Milk – 2 ½ cup
  • Wheat flour – 2 cups
  • Ghee – 1 ½ cup
  • Gond katira (available in market)– ½ cup
  • Almonds – 3
  • Black pepper – 10
  • Cumin seeds powder – 2tbsp
  • Soamp – 2tbsp
  • Elachi powder – 1tbsp
  • Cinnamon stick powder – 1tbsp
  • Nutmeg powder (jaji kaya)- ½ tbsp
  • Sugar or Jaggery – 1 ½ cup

How to prepare Methi masala laddo or laddus


Step 1: Clean the fenugreek seeds and keep it in hot sun for 1 day.

Step 2: Grind that seeds and make it a fine powder.

Step 3: Take the milk in vessel and boil it nicely.

Step 4: Turn off the flame and add fenugreek powder into the milk.

Step 5: Soak it for minimum 8 hours.

Step 6: Better do the steps 1- 5 one day before itself.

Step 7: Chop the almond pieces and keep a side. Same way make black pepper powder.

Step 8: Take a pan and add ½ cup ghee to it and heat it in low flame.

Step 9: Now add soaked fenugreek powder paste into the ghee and fry it nicely.

Step 10: You can observe the light brown color shade while frying the paste.

Step 11: Turn off the flame. Now take other pan add ghee to it. Allow the ghee to get melt.

Step 12: Add gond to the ghee and fry it. Collect the gond into bowl.

Step 13: In the same pan add wheat flour and fry it till the dry smell goes out. Collect and keep a side.

Step 14: Add 1 tbsp of ghee to the pan and fry the jaggery.

Step 15: You can observe the jaggery melting slowly. It will form a thick liquid.

Step 16: Liquid starts getting stronger immediately add fenugreek paste, gond, almond pieces, black pepper powder, cinnamon stick powder, soamp, nutmeg powder and wheat flour to the liquid pakam.

Step 17: Stir nicely by avoiding lumps. If will form a thick paste.

Step 18: Apply ghee to your both arms and start making laddus or laddos with this paste.

Tasty methi masala laddu is ready to eat now. Garnish the laddus with pistachios or chiraunji or with dry fruits for more taste.

  • Plain flour- 100gms
  • Self-rising flour- 1cup

  • Whisky- ½ spoon
  • Whipped cream- ¼ cup
  • Water- 2 cups
  • Kosher salt – ½ spoon
  • Corn flour- ¼ cup
  • Cocoa powder- ½ spoon
  • dry nuts- 1/4 cup


To prepare caramel mixture:

Step 1: At medium flame, take a pan add sugar and water. Stir it well.

Step 2: Boil it well until the caramel mixture turns into brown colour.

Step 3: Off the flame, add whipped cream by mixing it well and keep aside.

To prepare pudding:

Step 4: Take another pan, heat milk, brown sugar, corn flour and kosher salt. Mix it well.

Step 5: Heat it well until it starts bubbling.

Step 6: Add egg yolks mixture to it and stir it well.

Step 7: Now add vanilla essence and whisky to the mixture and mix well.

Step 8: Add unsalted butter and stir it well, heat the mixture until it turns to thick paste.

Step 9: Pour pudding into a small cups and store in refrigerator for 2 hrs.

Step 3: After some time, milk changes into curdles and water in it gets separated.

Step 4: Using cotton cloth squeeze milk curdles tightly till the water comes out completely.

Step 5: Later spread milk curdles in a plate.

Step 6: Mix it well into smooth dough and make into small balls.

Step 7: Press the panner balls evenly.

Step 8: Take a bowl of water and add sugar to it.

Step 9: Add paneer balls to sugar water.

Step 10: In a pressure cooker, cook paneer balls in sugar water for 5min till whistle comes.

Step 11: Open the lid after pressure comes out, you will observe that paneer balls expands in size.

To make creamy milk:

Step 1: Boil milk on low flame

Step 2: After milk boils, add sugar and some water leave it for 5min till sugar dissolves.

Step 4: Now add syrup to paneer balls.

Step 5: Add toppings (pistachio, almond) to rasamalai.

Step 4: Take another bowl and dissolve jaggery in 1 glass of water.

Step 7: Add coconut milk and some water to it and cook for 10min in low flame.

  • Evaporated milk – 3 cups
  • White bread – 1 slice
  • Condensed milk – 1can
  • Cardamom – ½ t-spoons
  • Pistachio nuts(crushed)- 2-3 tb-spoons


  1. Take the bread slice, and remove the bread crust from all the four sides and crumble it up.
  2. Once it is into small pieces, add milk into it.
  3. Let the milk stand in it for 2-3mins so that it gets softend.
  4. Add a pinch of saffron.
  5. 2-3 tb-spoons of Pistachio nuts (crushed).
  6. Now add the condensed milk (as condensed milk contains sugar so we don’t need to add any sugar).
  7. Add ½ t-spoon of cardamom powder.

  9. Now you can put it in the containers you like and cover it with the sliver foil.
  10. And  let it be freezed  for 5-6 hours/over night.
  11. The next morning/after 5-6 hours you can see your kulfi ready.

1.Wash the apricots and in water upto 4-5 hours/over night.
2.Remove the the apricots then drain then and keep the water aside.

5.Allow to boil 15-20 mins stirr occasionally.

Preparations to be made

  2. Using the knife make the small pieces of cashew nuts, pistachios and almonds.
  3. Mash the cardamoms, discharge the shells and then make a fine powder.
  4. Take a tbsp of cardamom powder and keep it a side.
  5. Grate the nutmeg and take 1/2 tps of grated nutmeg.


Step 1: Heat the pan.

Step 2: Add poppy seeds and roast them for 5min, then take them into a bowl.

Step 3: In the same pan add 1-tbsp on ghee, 1tbsp edible gum fry stirring them in a low flame until they are puff up completely.

Step 4: Once the edible gum come downs to room temperature, using your finger crush them and make them into powder.

Step 5: Take 1tbsp of ghee in the same pan and add pieces of cashew nuts, almonds, pistachios, cantaloupe seeds and fry them in a medium flame and stir them well until the cantaloupe seeds start crackling

Step 6: Then add coarsely ground dates mix it well then add roosted poppy seeds, cardamom powder, grated nutmeg and edible gum powder, mix them well till it forms into a solid mass.

Step 7: Then take the burfi into a plate to make the surface even.

Step 8: Chill in the refrigerator for 10-15 min.

Step 9:  Now cut into which ever shape you want or even you can make into laddus.

Step 4: Take the melted ghee and add to the roasting besan and stir it for 5 minutes.

  2. Add ghee and keep roasting the besan in ghee till it becomes brown
  3. A typical fragrance and brown color will indicate that the besan is fully ready for the ladoos.
  4. Add powdered sugar, powdered cardamom and raisins or other chopped  dry fruits
  5. Mix the besan ladoo mixture well then let it cool down to room temperature.
  6. Form small or medium sized besan ladoos  with  fingers and palm and store them in air tight container.

  1. Wash, peel and grate the carrots .
  2. Place carrots  and milk together in a pan and  simmer over low fire
  3. When the mixture starts  thickening, add  ghee.
  4. stir and continue to cook until the mixture is dry  and ghee oozes out
  5. Mix sugar well and add dry fruits
  6. Serve hot or cold . It can be refrigerated for about a week

  • 1 liter full fat milk
  • ¼ cup basmati rice
  • 6 tbsp. sugar

  • 15-20 slice almonds
  • 12-15 cashew nuts
  • 1 tbsp. golden raisins
  1. Rinse and soak rice for about 30 minutes.
  2. Boil  milk , reduce the flame and add rice
  3. Stir and simmer the milk and let the rice cook.
  4. Let it simmer till the required consistency. This may take 30-40 minutes on low fire.
  5. Add sugar and keep on fire for a few minutes more.
  6.  microwave the almonds , cool peel and slice them along with the cashews
  7. Rinse the raisins and keep aside.
  8. Powder the cardamoms finely.
  9. When the rice kheer is ready, add the almonds, cashews, cardamom powder and saffron.
  10. Serve the rice kheer, hot or warm or refrigerated.

Coconut BurfiCoconut Burfi

Coconut Burfi, Nariyal Burfi or Thengai burfi is one delicious and easy to make sweet during Diwali. It requires minimum ingredients and is a healthy dish.


  • 2 Cups – Fresh Grated Coconut
  • 2 Cups – Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp – Freshly Crushed Cardamom

Poornam kudumuluPoornam-kudumulu

Poornam kudumulu is the famous ganesh chaturthi recipe. This is prepared on the day of Vinayaka chavithi for offering the lord Ganesha with this tasty sweet. Lord Vinayaka likes to eat kudumulu more on this day so gain lord’s ganapthi blessings by giving naivedyam to him. There are lots of varieties in kudumulu some make with jaggery, some with wheat etc. Here I have chosen Bengal gram as the main ingredient in making of poornam kudumulu. Make this tasty sweet for Vinayaka on Vinayaka chaturthi day. How to make helps you in giving a nice outlook for your sweet poornam kudumulu.

  • Bengal gram – 1 ½ cup
  • Jaggery – 2 cups
  • Fresh coconut grate – 5tbsp
  • Elachi powder – ½ tbsp
  • Rice flour – 3cups
  • Water (required)
  • Ghee – 2tbsp
  • Salt – pinch

Step 1: Take a pressure cooker, add Bengal gram to it and add 2 cups of water to it.

Step 2: Cover the lid of the cooker and keep a whistle on it.

Step 3: Switch on the stove and keep this cooker on the stove. Heat it in a low flame.

Step 4: Cook the Bengal gram till 4-5 whistles.

Step 5: Turn off the flame and let the pressure goes out. Open the lid and pour out the excess water.

Step 6: Add the boiled Bengal gram into a jar and grind it to a fine paste. Keep aside.

Step 7: Take a non stick pan, add jaggery and required water to it. Keep the non stick on the stove and heat it in a low flame.

Step 8: Jaggery will start melting due to heat.

Step 9: You can observe the jaggery water getting strong. Touch and observe.

Step 10: Now slowly add the ground Bengal gram paste, fresh coconut grate and elachi powder to this liquid.

Step 11: Mix well by giving continuous stirring. Allow it to cook nicely.

Step 12: Complete mixture will form into a paste.

Step 13: Turn off the flame and allow it to cool for 10 minutes.

Step 14: Start making round balls with this paste. (Poornam balls)

Step 15: Take another pan and add three cups of water to it. Heat the pan in low flame.

Step 16: Add a pinch of salt to the boiling water.

Step 17: Now add ghee also to it and boil nicely. Turn off the flame.

Step 18: Take a bowl and put rice flour into it.

Step 19: Start mixing the flour with the liquid which we made above.

Step 20: Remember that this should be mixed like chapathi Dow. Don’t add too much of water at a time.

Step 21: Start making the balls with this rice flour paste.

Step 22: After making the ball, press the ball into small size poori shape or round shape with fingers.

Step 23: Take the ball which we have made before (poornam balls) and place in the center of the pooris.

Step 24: Cover the poornam balls with the poori and make it again ball. Remember that poornam ball should completely cover with the poori paste.

Step 25: Follow the same procedure for the remaining paste and balls.

Step 26: Keep them aside.

Step 27: Take idly plates and apply ghee to the plates.

Step 28: Keep the balls which you made on the plates.

Step 29: Cook these balls like how you cook idly. For at least 15 minutes.

Step 30: Hot Hot poornam kudumulu is ready now.

Since these are cooked with steam it is also good for health. Fresh items like jaggery and rice flour brings more taste to the dish. Enjoy preparing this tasty sweet poornam kudumulu as a ganapathis prasadam. Without the poornam kudumulu Vinayaka chavithi festival is incomplete.

Papulo vundralu / pappulo undralluPapulo-vundralu

Pappulo vundralu is one of the most common naivedyam recipes offered to Lord Ganesha on Vinayaka chathurthi. We used to prepare this sweet for every ganesh chaturthi and offer before Lord Ganapathi and please him for his blessings. People follow different procedures in making of undrallu or vundrallu, but I have chosen the old recipe from my grandmother. Making of pappulo undrallu or popular vundrallu is so easy. I have chosen Moong dal as main tool. No need of getting scared to prepare this undrallu, just follows our cute recipe and give your tiny Ganesha a special taste.

  • Moong daal (pesara pappu) – 2 cups
  • Milk – 1 ½ cup
  • Jaggery or sugar – 1 ½ cup
  • Elachi powder – ½ tbsp
  • Saffron – pinch
  • Camphor (if u like the smell)

Vundaralu ingredients

  • Rice flour – ½ cup
  • Milk – 2tbsp
  • Ghee – 2tbsp
  • Water – 1 cup

Step 1: Take a non stick pan on the stove and add milk, water, ghee and sugar to it.

Step 2: Allow it to boil in a low flame. Now slowly add rice flour by stirring continuously. Avoid lumps while mixing the flour.

Step 3: After 3 minutes, turn off the flame and allow the mixture to get cool.

Step 4: Start making the balls (vundrallu) with this mixture. Keep them aside.

Step 5: Take a pan and keep on stove with low flame. Add Moong dal to it and fry it by stirring.

Step 6: Now wash this fried Moong dal for atleast 5 times.

Step 7: Take a pressure cooker add this washed Moong dal and put 5 ½ cups of water.

Step 8: Cover the cooker with a lid and let it heat till it gives 4 whistles. Keep aside.

Step 9: Take another pan, add sugar or jaggery grate and 1 cup of water.

Step 10: Boil them till the sugar dissolves into the water completely.

Step 11: Now open the lid of the pressure cooker and remove any excess water in dal.

Step 12: Start making the dal into a paste by stirring.

Step 13: Add milk and 1 glass of water to the Moong dal paste. Keep the cooker again on flame.

Step 14: Allow it to boil. Now add the (vundralu) balls which you have done before this.

Step 15: Cook it for 5 minutes.

Step 16: Now add the boiled sugar liquid also to this mixture.

Step 17: Let it boil for 4 minutes in a low flame.

Step 18: Turn off the flame and add saffron and elachi powder to it.

Step 19: Tasty papulo vundralu are ready now.

Ganesh chaturthi or Vinayaka Chavithi is almost upon us. So start making your preparations for today. Vinayaka chaturthi requires special items which are easy to make. One of them is the pappulo undrallu or papulo vundrallu. These will sure taste great and you can easily understand why Ganapathi loves them. Start preparing.

Pala thalikalu is a ganesh chaturthi recipe. Vinayaka chathurthi is incomplete without this sweet. Palathalikalu is most common sweet prepared on the occasion of Vinayaka chavithi as naivedyam to Lord Ganesha. It is a traditional sweet prepared in Andhra on the day of Ganapathi Chathurthi. This pala thalakalu is popular in Guntur district. Since Milk is used in the making of this sweet, it gives more taste. Tiny pieces melt into the Payasam and give an awesome taste. Some uses coconut grate to make this sweet. But my recipe is completely different and sure it won’t take much time. Enjoy preparing palathalikalu on Vinayaka Chaturthi.

  • Rice – ½ kg
  • Jaggery – 1 kg
  • Vermicelli – 100grms
  • Cashew nuts – 75grms
  • Ghee – 75grms
  • Elachi powder – 1 tbsp
  • Milk – 1 liter
  • Water – ½ liter

Step 1: Soak the rice 24 hours before you planned to cook this recipe.

Step 2: Grind the soaked rice into a fine powder.

Step 3: Mix the grounded rice flour by slowly adding water. Avoid lumps.

Step 4: You need to mix this flour like how you mix the paste for chapathi. It should be less strong.

Step 5: Take a big bottomed vessel on the stove. Add ½ liter water to the vessel and heat in a low flame.

Step 6: Now add ½ liter of milk to the water. Boil both the liquids nicely.

Step 7: Add vermicelli to this liquid. Cook it for 5 minutes.

Step 8: Now add the rice flour paste into muruku presser. Start pressing the batter into the boiling liquid in round shape.

Step 9: After pressing the rice flour, add jaggery grated into the liquid.

Step 10: Mix well and add elachi powder. Stir nicely so that jaggery grate dissolves into the liquid.

Step 11: Let it cook for 10 minutes. Don’t forget to give frequent stirrings. Turn off the flame.

Step 12: Take a small pan on the stove, add 2tbsp of ghee. Add cashews and dry fruits to the hot ghee.

Step 13: Fry them till they become golden brown in color.

Step 14: Put entire mixture into the palathalakalu along with ghee.

Step 15: Add remaining ½ liter milk into the palathalakalu.

Step 15: Tasty palathalakalu is ready now.

Note: Plain dal and ghee are the perfect combination to taste yummy palathalakalu.

Prepare this traditional recipe palathalikalu and serve it to Lord Ganesha on Vinayaka Chaturthi day with hot ghee and dal Ghee and dal brings still more taste to the sweet. This can be liked not only by Vinayaka but also to little children.

Chavithi payasamChavithi-payasam

Whatever the occasion may be we used to prepare Payasam as a special sweet. Why can’t you make the day Vinayaka chavithi still tasty with this chavithi payasam. Payasam stands for its simplicity and superb taste. Now I have listed this item as one of the Vinayaka chavithi special recipes. Start preparing this easy Payasam by gathering the ingredients quickly. Lord Ganapathi likes to eat more items like sweets. Offer him this tasty yummy chavithi payasam and get blessings.

  • Milk – 1 liter
  • Bottle gourd – small piece
  • Sugar – 200grams
  • Elachi – 5grams
  • Ghee – 50 grams
  • Sago – 50grams
  • Kova – 150grams
  • Dry grapes – 10grams
  • Cashew nuts – 20 grams

Step 1: Take a vessel on the stove, add milk and sago into the vessel.

Step 2: Heat it on a low flame. Allow them to boil till they become smooth.

Step 3: Remove the peel of bottle gourd and grate it with a grater.

Step 4: Spin the water from the bottle gourd grate. Keep aside.

Step 5: Take a pan on the stove, add ghee to it. Now add bottle gourd grated to the hot ghee.

Step 6: Fry it for 5 minutes.

Step 7: Add this mixture to the boiling milk. Mix well.

Step 8: Cook it for 10 minutes.

Step 9: Now add kova and sugar, mix well the liquid Payasam. Turn off the flame.

Step 10: Take a small pan on the stove, add 2tbsp of ghee. Add cashews and dry grapes to the hot ghee.

Step 11: Fry them till they become golden brown in color.

Step 12: Garnish these dry fruits to the Payasam.

Tasty chavithi payasam is ready now.
