How to cook cilantro chutney in Indian style

Cilantro chutney is a popular Indian recipe. Cilantro chutney is prepared in various types. The main ingredients of this cilantro chutney are coriander (cilantro) leaves, mint leaves and lemon juice. Cilantro chutney is mostly preferred with the combination of snack items like samosa, fried potato. Cilantro chutney is used as sauce in non-veg items such as kebabs, fried meat, fish, chicken. Let us see how to prepare this cilantro chutney at home in Indian style.


  • Coriander leaves- 2cups
  • Lemon juice- 2 spoons
  • Mint leaves- 1cup
  • Chopped onions- ½ cup
  • Chopped ginger- ½ spoon
  • Cloves- 4
  • Cumin seeds- ½ spoon
  • Grated coconut chopped- 3 spoons
  • Green chillies- 3 medium
  • Salt to taste
  • Water- ¼ cup


Step 1: Wash the coriander and mint leaves. Let them dry.

Step 2: Combine cloves, cumin seeds into powder using mixer.

Step 3: Add onions, ginger, green chilies, mint leaves, coriander leaves, lemon juice and mix them into fine paste.

Step 4: Add salt to cilantro chutney to taste.

Step 5: If needed, add some water to chutney to make it into thin paste.
