There is an alternative method, mix two cups of oatmeal, two tablespoons of cornstarch and required amount of water to form a thick paste. Apply this paste on the affected skin and leave it for about 15 – 20 minutes. Wash it off with lukewarm water. Repeat this remedy once a day.

Aloe vera to reduce pain

An alternative way, boil one teaspoon of crushed mint leaves and two teaspoons of sugar in one cup of water for about five minutes. Strain the solution and allow it to cool. Drink this solution 1 – 2 times daily.

Chamomile tea to soothe hives

This gives relieve from stress. Add dried chamomile leaves in boiling water. Allow it to boil for 10 minutes. Let the solution steep, strain the liquid and drink it twice a day.

Foods that trigger hives

Foods that may trigger hives are shell fish, chocolates, nuts, fish, tomatoes, eggs, fresh berries and milk. However, you are the best judge to identify which food is triggering the hives. If you feel any of the food items is causing the hives, then delete it from your diet.

Asafoetida to control hives

Take a quarter spoon of asafetida and 4f tablespoons of castor oil. Mix them together. Apply this mixture to the hives for 30 minutes and take a shower.

Nettle tea best home remedy for hives

The herbalists recommend nettle, which is an effective alternative treatment for hives. Thus, being a natural antihistamine which has anti-inflammatory and astringent properties. This relieves swelling, inflammation and itching. Take one tablespoon of dried nettle leaf to a cup of hot water and steep them for about 10 – 15 minutes. Now, strain the solution and add a little amount of honey. Drink this tea and add two or three times a day. This helps to improve blood circulation. Alternatively, take up to five 300 milligram capsules of nettle daily. Consult a doctor before taking nettle capsules to the hives. Thus, consult a doctor just before taking nettle capsules.

These hives are harmless, but sometimes you may see them for a week or so and sometimes they may disappear in a few hours.
