How to cook celery root mash

Celery root mash can be cooked, roasted and mashed. Celery root is a root vegetable with high amount of proteins, calories and carbohydrates. Water content is high in celery roots. Celery root mash is prepared in short time. Let us learn how to cook celery root mash recipe easily.


  • Chopped celery root- 2 cups
  • Salt to taste
  • Chopped Celery leaves- 3 spoons
  • Unsalted butter- 2 spoons
  • Milk cream- 3 spoons
  • Chives- 1 spoon
  • Pepper- ΒΌ spoon


Step 1: Peel off the skin of celery roots.

Step 2: Cut the celery root into small pieces.

Step 3: Clean them thoroughly with cool water.

Step 4: Boil 2 cups of water in a vessel for 2 min.

Step 5: Add the celery root pieces into water and leave for 20 min.

Step 6: After the celery roots gets boiled add milk cream and leave it for 5 min.

Step 7: Add unsalted butter to celery roots and leave for 2 min.

Step 8: Add a pinch of salt if necessary.

Step 9: Off the flame and leave it for 2 min.

Step 10: Using masher, mash the celery roots into thick paste.

Step 11: Garnish celery root mash with celery leaves and chives.
