Tips to lighten the dark skin
Mint has antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties. It has essential oils that help to synthesize the white blood cells. It makes an excellent skin lightener. Mix mint and lemon juice that helps to skin bleach erase the dark elbows and knees. Boil ½ cup of water with a handful of mint leaves. Simmer it for 5 minutes. Remove it from heat and take it out with half a lemon. Squeeze the juice into the mint water. Make sure let it cool. Dip a cotton ball in the solution and rub it on your dark skin. Leave it for about 20 minutes then rinse it off with warm water. Repeat it twice a day.
It contains a skin cleansing enzyme called papain and various vitamins that helps to get rid of dark elbows and knees. Remove the slice of cucumber and rub it gently over your skin for 15 minutes.
Take one tablespoon of powdered almonds and one teaspoon finely powdered almond shells. Mix the two dry ingredients and add fresh cream to it. Apply this almond shell scrub on the knees and massage them for 7 – 10 minutes. Once the massing is done leave the scrub on the knees for 5 minutes. Dry the knees and apply a moisturizer. Oatmeal is a natural exfoliator. Take two tablespoon of powdered oatmeal with two teaspoons of fresh cream. Instead of fresh cream you can use cold cream or honey. Apply the paste on the knees and leave it for about two minutes. Gently massage the paste on the knees. Wet your hands if the paste becomes dry. Use the tips of your fingers for massaging both your knees for 10 minutes. Then wash off using cold water.
Natural oils like olive oil, coconut oil, almond oil that contains vitamin E helps to provide moisture to your skin. It a natural method for keeping skin moist and soft. Olive oil contains anti-oxidants which are best known for repairing dark and damaged skin. Apply these oils to your darkened elbows and knees before sleeping to remove the darkness and dryness from skin.
