How to make rava idli for breakfast

Rava idli is famous south indian breakfast. Rava idli is very easy to prepare using pressure cooker.


  • 1 cup roasted sooji (rava)
  • Carrot – ½
  • Baking soda _1/4 table spoon
  • 1 cup of Curd
  • Oil 2 spoons.
  • Mustard-1 spoon
  • 2 spoons chopped green chili
  • 1 spring curry leaves
  • Cashew nuts
  • Coriander leaves


Step 1: Take 1 pan heat oil.

Step 2: Add mustard , green chili, curry leaves, cashew nut to oil.

Step 3: Add roasted sooji, curd, chopped coriander leaves, baking soda and salt to taste to it.

Step 4: Mix them well without any lumps. Keep aside for 30min.

Step 5: Take idli vessel. Pour the mix in idli vessel

Step 6: Cook in steam for 10-15 min.

Step 7: Serve the rava idli with tomato chutney.
