How to prepare almond chikki

Almonds are the excellent source for vitamins, minerals. Almonds contains high amount of fibre. These are used in preparing candy and cakes. Intake of almonds reduces the cholesterol levels in your body. Preparing deserts using almond is easy and good for health. Jaggery is used in making sweets contain high amount of iron. Most of the sweets are prepared by using jaggery syrup. Instead of almond we can use any dry nuts such as cashew nuts, ground nuts to prepare chikki. Let us learn how to prepare almond chikki at home.


  • Almonds- 2 cups
  • Jaggery -3 cups
  • Cardamom powder- 2 spoons
  • Ghee- ½ cup
  • Water- 1 cup


Step 1: Fry the almonds without any oil for 2-5 min

Step 2: Chop almonds into small pieces using chopper or mixer.

Step 3: Take a long bottomed vessel and add some water.

Step 4: Add jaggery to water. Leave it for some time till it turn into thick syrup.

Step 5: Add cardamom powder to the syrup for flavour.

Step 6: Add chopped almond pieces into jaggery syrup and mix it well.

Step 7: Take a pan and heat the ghee.

Step 8: keep ghee aside till the temperature reduces.

Step 9: Apply ghee on plain plate and pour the almond mix evenly.

Step 10: Cut the almond chikki into small pieces.

Step 11: Serve the almond chikki in a plate
