Quick home remedies for boils

Onions to get rid of boils

Onions are rich in antiseptic properties. This is more effective and has antimicrobial to treat boil treatment. Peel an onion and cut them into thick slices. Place it over the boil. Wrap it in a clean cloth to draw blood and reduce heat to the boil. Leave it on for a few hours. Repeat the process 3 – 4 times a day. Thus, the boils are drained with the usage of onions.

Indian lilac (Neem) to treat boils

Neem comprise of antiseptic, anti-microbial and even anti-bacterial properties of neem help in getting rid of boil and even other different types of skin infections.

Take neem leaves and grind them and then make a paste of it. Apply the paste on the affected area.


Boil neem leaves in water till the water reduces to half. Leave it off for almost 30 minutes. Rinse it off with lukewarm water. Try this remedy for almost twice to thrice a week.

Black seed to treat boils naturally

Black seed also known as Kalonji is one of the most popular and natural remedy for various types of skin issues which also include boils. The medicinal properties of black seed can give relief from boils.

Take a few black seeds. Grind them and make a paste of them. Apply this paste on affected area twice a day.


You can also add a half tablespoon of black seed oil in a cup of hot milk or water. Drink mixture twice to thrice a day for a few weeks, till the boils vanish.

Bread poultice for boils 

Bread poultice is one of the best and a most used remedy of boils. Take a piece of bread and then dip it in warm milk or warm water.

Now apply the soaked bread on boil for a few minutes. This will loosen the boil and reduce inflammation. The heat will compress from boil and help in increasing circulation, it will send more infection fighting white blood cells to the infection site. Try this process twice daily till the boil heals completely.

Tea tree oil to prevent boils

Tea tree oil comprises of three main properties like antibacterial, antifungal as well as antiseptic property. If the use of tea tree oil is done on a regular basis, then even the healing process will speed up which will help in giving relief from boils.

Take a clean cotton cushion and then gently dip it in tea tree oil. Massage it on boil delicately. Try this a few times a day for several weeks till the boil is healed. If you have an infection related to the tea tree oil then it is better to consult a doctor before using it.

Milk quick home remedy for boils

Milk to treat boils and also helps to heal boils. This helps in speeding up to give you relief from the pain. Heat a cup of milk and add three teaspoons of salt into it. Mix them well and add some flour or crumbled bread pieces into it. This can thicken the mixture and it helps to reduce heat boils. Apply this mixture to boil and leave it for some time. Rinse it off with water and repeat the process several times a day for better results. Alternatively milk cream is used to treat boils. Mix a teaspoon of a milk cream and vinegar to treat some turmeric powder and apply it directly on the boil for better results.

Turmeric natural herbal treatment

Turmeric is best and natural blood purifier and it also comprises of anti-inflammatory properties that will be helpful in the treatment for boils.

Take a tablespoon of turmeric powder in a glass of milk or water. Mix it properly. Drink this for almost three to four times a day for five to six days for a week or two.

Make a paste of ginger and turmeric and then apply it to boil and then apply it to boil and then cover it with clean cloth. Try this for almost a week or two every day.

Warm washcloth compress for heat boils

Apply  warm washcloth compress is the best remedy as it reduces the pain and then even increase the blood circulation to heal the boil.

Take a clean cloth and dip it in warm water. Place it to boil for almost 10 to 15 minutes. You can even use warm salt water. Try using a compress that is wet and warm. Try this process for almost three or four times a day.

Cornmeal to heal boils

Cornmeal is a natural absorbent, helps to treat boils.

Take a half cup of water to boil, add cornmeal to make a thick paste. Apply this paste to the boil and cover with a cloth. Repeat the process for a few times until the boil becomes soft and infection subsides. This a natural home remedy for boils.

Castor oil treatment for boils

Castor oil is an anti-septic ingredient. Put a few drops of castor oil on a cotton swab and place it over the boil. This will absorb the infection and dries the boil. This is very effective treatment to be tried at home easily.

Cornmeal to treat heat boils

Cornmeal is the best and natural home remedy to treat boils. Take half a cup of water and boil them well. Add cornmeal into it and prepare a thick paste. Apply this paste on the boil. Cover them well with a cloth. Repeat the process several times a day until the boil becomes soft and infections drains. This natural treatment helps in surely bringing some relief from the discomfort of boils. This helps to follow the home remedy without fail and is best for a few days to get positive results.

Garlic to relieve from boils

Garlic has anti-bacterial, anti- microbial and anti-inflammatory properties. Either consume 2 garlic cloves or place it over the boil, it works great.

Crush 2 garlic cloves and apply it over the boil.

Heat a couple of garlic gloves and place it on the boil for about 10 minutes. Repeat it for a few times for relief.

Basil and asafetida for boils

Crush a few basil leaves and extract the juice. Crush ginger and add it to the basil leaf juice. Now, add asafetida to the prepared mixture. Apply it to the affected area.

Nutmeg to prevent boils

Nutmeg stimulates the blood circulation. Mix half teaspoon of nutmeg powder in a cup of hot milk. Drink the mixture, this helps in preventing the bacterial infection in the boil.

Potatoes to reduce pain

Potatoes are rich in Vitamin C, B-complex, calcium, magnesium, and phosphorus, iron and hence useful in many skin related issues. It also has anti-inflammatory properties that help in reducing the pain.

Peel and slice a potato. Place it over the boil for a few minutes. Keep changing the slices.

Chop the potatoes, finely, squeeze the juice. Dip the cotton swab and dab over the boil, repeat this for about 5 times in a day.

Betel leaves for boils

Betel leaves are best and sacred herb for Indian rituals. This is best used in Ayurveda of medicinal properties. There are tannins and some essential oil present in betel leaves can phenol as chavicol. This gives the herb with a strong antiseptic properties. The essential oil in betel leaves has anti-protozoan, antibacterial and anti-fungal properties. This is rich in Vitamins and minerals that make it nutritive herb. Take one betel leaf and castor oil. Warm them with a little. Apply it with a layer of castor oil over the warm betel leaf. Place the leaf over your boil with the oiled part that touching the boil. Then, secure it with a cloth. Replace the betel leaf for every few hours. Thus, results in speeding up the healing process and drains them quickly.

Alternatively, take 2 – 3 betel leaves and tear them into tiny pieces. Add them in a cup of water and boil it for about 10 minutes. Keep the flame on low for some time and switch off the flame. Let them cool down. Mash them and grind them to form a thick paste. Apply this paste on the boil and secure it with gauze or a bandage. Reapply it after a few hours. Repeat it twice a day to get rid of boils.
